Making every house a home

While I love curating the Hometastic boxes, I’m not a professional stylist. My day job is actually nursing, but when I moved to Australia, I was missing the touches of home.

And so, I created Ruby’s Home Store, stocking all things British.

But occasionally, I’d come across other items that weren’t British, but were still gorgeous.

I’ve lived in many rentals over the years, and became quite good at finding pieces
that would make a bland house a home. I realised the magic of finding a few new
items to refresh and update a space.

So, I took this experience to create a seasonal subscription box with the beautiful things I found, and so the Hometastic subscription box was born.

Still got questions? Here are some questions we’ve received in the past.

A subscription box is a package of goodies sent to you regularly (in our case, quarterly) for a fee. They’re a delightful surprise, containing a range of products tailored to your interests. With each box, you get access to limited edition and themed items you mightn’t have discovered otherwise. Plus, the community of subscribers creates a sense of belonging around shared interests. Subscriptions boxes also save time and hassle and are great value. The products inside are often worth more than what you pay for the subscription. It's like getting a bargain while indulging in your guilty pleasures.


All subscription boxes ship at the same time – on or around the 5th of March, June,
September and December. So it should end up at your door within 7 to 10 days.



There is no commitment period for The Hometastic Boxes ordered with a Quarterly Subscription. All Annual Subscriptions are committed to receiving 4 boxes over 12 months.

You can cancel your subscription at any time using the manage subscription option in emails reminder sent out prior to payment dates, or by logging into your account on the Ruby's Home Store page and clicking the manage subscription button.

If you are on a new quarterly plan, you can cancel anytime.

If you're on an annual subscription you need to stay for the full commitment period. You'll be able to cancel when the renewal email comes just prior to your anniversary.

We do not do refunds on the already sent box.

To cancel your subscription, log into your account and click the cancel subscription button. You will also be sent a manage my subscription link in emails sent prior to each payment date on the 25th of February, June, August and November. Reminder emails well be sent 2 weeks prior and then a few days prior to give you time to update your details or cancel your subscription.

Currently, our subscription box is only available in Australia or New Zealand.

(There is an extra shipping cost of AUD $19.95 for NZ)

You certainly can. You can add a gift subscription to your cart. Choose from the quarterly or annual subscription plans and when you reach the checkout make sure you use their details for shipping- their name and postal address.

Because we love surprises, we recommend using your email and contact number so we can contact you with the important details of the order and your gift will be kept a surprise until it arrives at the recipients address.

Yes. I work hard each season to find products that will fit into your home. Most boxes include a mix of neutral tones and pops of colour that will complement most rooms.

I’m quite confident you will love everything in your box. But if there’s something that’s not quite your style, you can always regift it, or donate it to charity.

I choose the items for each season’s box is carefully in advance. That means that every 3 months, you get to enjoy opening a fresh surprise. You can’t choose what will be in your box, but you can be confident I’ll find some beautiful products for you.

Yes! You will Hearts on each order processed for the Hometastic Box. This will either be 100 hearts each quarter or 400 hearts once if choosing an annual plan.

You will not be able to use Ruby's Rewards ❤️ to pay for part or all of a subscription. Ruby's Reward's ❤️ can be used across the rest of the Ruby's Home Store and in the exclusive Hometastic Store only available to our Hometastic Box Subscribers!

From October 2025, we no longer support pausing or skipping seasonal boxes.

If you will be on holidays or something else prevents you from being able to receive your box when it is sent out on the 5th of March, June, September or December, we suggest:

  1. You update your shipping address to send the box to a friend or family member to collect and hold for you;
  2. You arrange with your local post office to hold your box for you until you can collect it (you may need to pay for this service);

Alternately, you can cancel your subscription and rejoin when you are ready to receive boxes again. Please bear in mind that we have a maximum number of subscriptions available and once we reach this, you will need to join the waiting list, and you'll be notified when a place becomes available to resubscribe.
